Grant Information

Federal Pell Grant

Federal Pell Grants are federally funded, need-based grants awarded to low-income undergraduate students to promote access to postsecondary education. Federal Pell Grant amounts are dependent on: the student’s student aid index (SAI, formerly the expected family contribution or EFC), the cost of attendance, the student’s enrollment intensity, and whether the student attends for a full academic year or less.

Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant (SEOG)

SEOG Grants are federally funded grants awarded to undergraduates with exceptional financial need (students with the lowest student aid index) and who are eligible for a Federal Pell Grant.

While each participating school will receive enough money to pay the Federal Pell Grants for its eligible students, there’s no guarantee that every eligible student will be able to receive SEOG. Students at each school will be awarded these funds based on availability at that school.

Cal Grant

Cal Grants are state-funded monetary grants given to students to help pay for college expenses.

Submit the FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application by September 2 and submit a verified Cal Grant GPA anytime between November and the March 2 deadline. Cal Grants are awarded by the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC), based on income, eligibility, and GPA requirements.

Student Success Completion Grant (SSCG)

SSCG Grants are state-funded monetary grants given to students to help pay for college expenses.

Community college students who receive a Cal Grant B or C and enroll full-time are eligible to receive an SSCG award. Each college receives a limited amount of SSCG funds, which they award to eligible students on a first-come, first-served basis, contingent on available funding.
