Physical Geology
GEOL 001 is an introduction to the physical and chemical forces active on the
earth, including a survey of minerals, rocks, volcanism, geomorphology, and structural
geology. Also covered are the agents of weathering, erosion, earthquakes, the earth's
interior, glaciation, oceans, rock mobility, metamorphism, sedimentation and the formation
of economic mineral deposits.

Historical Geology
GEOL 003 is the study of the origin and history of the earth, the formation of
the continents and oceans and the changes they have experienced, the history and distribution
of rock formations and mountains, fossils as aids to the dating of rocks, geological
time, and the development of living things.
