Introduction to Pharmacology
PHARM 003 is a course tailored to nursing students who are just beginning their journey
into the world of pharmacology or who seek to refresh or remediate pharmacology.
Throughout this course, we'll dive into the essential terminology and concepts of
pharmacology, explore different drug categories and their uses, understand how drugs
work (mechanism of action), learn about various dosage forms and calculations, explore
different routes and principles of drug administration, and become familiar with common
generic and trade names. Additionally, we'll cover important nursing considerations,
including how to effectively teach patients about their medications.
