Want to make a difference in your community? The Public Health program at Coalinga College prepares you to improve the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
Public health is about preventing illness and helping people stay healthy—not just treating patients one-on-one. In this program, you’ll learn how to address health issues at the community level and support healthier lives for everyone.
Program Overview
The Public Health Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T) program is designed for students who plan to continue to a four-year college or university. It builds a strong foundation in public health and prepares you to transfer into majors such as Public Health, Health Science, Community Health, Health Promotion, Kinesiology, and related fields.
You’ll explore how health is shaped by everyday factors like behavior, environment, access to care, and community conditions. You’ll also learn practical ways to improve health outcomes and reduce barriers to care.
This program is a great way to explore health careers that focus on helping entire communities—not just individual patients.
