COALINGA, Calif., Oct. 15, 2025 — Coalinga College has been named a 2025 Pathway Champion by the Campaign for College Opportunity in recognition of the college’s work to create seamless routes to transfer and completion for students.
Each year, the Campaign for College Opportunity honors California Community Colleges and CSU campuses for implementing two landmark student-success policies: equitable placement (AB 705 and AB 1705) that supports students in transfer-level coursework, and the Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) pathway that streamlines transfer to the CSU. Pathway Champions celebrates 40 California campuses that are removing barriers to the courses students need to transfer, ensuring students transfer with a degree, strengthening access to four-year universities, and cultivating student talent for a brighter future.
“This recognition reflects our core mission: every student deserves a clear, supportive path to a degree and a transfer opportunity,” said Dr. Carla Tweed, president of Coalinga College. “Our faculty and staff have worked tirelessly to implement equitable placement and strengthen ADT pathways so students can start in the right classes, stay on track, and finish strong. We are proud of our students’ achievements and grateful to the Campaign for College Opportunity for this honor.”
As a Pathway Champion, Coalinga College is recognized for maximizing student success in transfer-level English and math, expanding the availability and visibility of ADT programs, and providing advising and supports that help students complete their goals on time.
