Coalinga College, formerly West Hills College Coalinga, proudly announces its new identity and slogan, "Better Tomorrows Begin Here." This slogan debuts a revitalized commitment to education, community involvement, and student success. This transformation, officially taking place on April 1, 2024, aligns with the West Hills Community College District's vision for growth and excellence.
Dr. Kristin Clark, Chancellor of the West Hills Community College District, expressed
enthusiasm for this pivotal development. "The renaming marks a significant step forward
in our mission to provide top-tier educational experiences tailored to our students
and communities," said Clark. "Coalinga College and Lemoore College each possess distinct
identities that reflect the spirit and needs of their respective student bodies and
surrounding communities. This change is a testament to our collective vision and the
strong support from all corners of our community."
A New Slogan for a Brighter Future
Coalinga College's President, Carla Tweed, highlighted the essence of the new slogan,
"Better Tomorrows Begin Here," as a beacon of the college's dedication to fostering
academic excellence and personal growth. "Our new slogan encapsulates our pledge to
not only provide education but also to offer hope, guidance, and a solid pathway towards
a more prosperous future for our students and the broader community," Tweed remarked.
The slogan serves as a promise to students, emphasizing Coalinga College's role in
helping them achieve their aspirations, thereby creating a better tomorrow. It reflects
a community-centered approach to education, focusing on innovation, accessibility,
and student success.
The rebranding initiative, part of a district-wide effort led by the West Hills Community
College District, underscores the importance of evolving to meet the changing needs
of students and the workforce. While Coalinga College and its sister college, Lemoore
College, will move forward under new names and slogans, they remain united in their
overarching mission to empower students to reach their full potential.
"Although we're introducing new names and slogans, our commitment to 'Once you go
here, you can go anywhere' remains unwavering," stated Chancellor Clark. "We're excited
about the future and confident that this rebranding effort will reinforce our role
as pillars of education and community development."
Coalinga College looks forward to welcoming current and prospective students to experience
the enriched educational environment and working together to create better tomorrows.
