Exam Accommodation Procedures

Students Must:

  1. Deliver their Classroom and Exam Accommodations and Exam Proctoring forms to their instructors at the start of the semester or at least one week before a scheduled exam. DSPS recommends students meet with instructor(s) during office hours to provide those forms.
  2. Make an appointment to take an exam in DSPS Lab at least 1 week prior to test date.
  3. Notify instructors at least three days prior to the exam that you will take it in the DSPS Lab.
  4. Remind their instructors to send exams to DSPS Lab one class session before they are scheduled to be taken.
  5. Arrive on time for exam appointments. Failure to do so may result in you not being able to take the exam in DSPS Lab.
  6. Make appointments that allow enough time to complete an exam with extended time considering the DSPS Lab hours of operation and all other scheduled responsibilities.
  7. Take exams the same day and time the class does and complete the exam in one sitting. Exceptions to this must be approved by the instructor and DSPS.
  8. Indicate if they will be using assistive technology (Kurzweil, Read & Write Gold, ZoomText, etc.), a reader, or a scribe when scheduling their testing appointment. A DSPS counselor must authorize these accommodations.
  9. Keep cell phones and other electronic devices not required for the exam stored in the DSPS Lab lockers or give these items to the exam proctor to keep in a locked cabinet.
  10. DSPS staff must approve all materials taken into the exam location.
  11. Take care of all personal needs prior to starting exams (bathroom, using cell phone, etc.) Students may not leave DSPS Lab at any time during the exam without staff approval.
  12. Follow CC Coalinga Student Code of Conduct while taking an exam in the DSPS Lab. Talking or communication between students is NOT allowed in the exam area. Discussing classroom exams with other students is NOT Students suspected of cheating will be subject to disciplinary action.
  13. Tell a DSPS staff member immediately if any problems are encountered related to taking an exam in the DSPS Lab.
